Detailed Case Review
The homeowner contacted DrainBoss after ongoing drainage problems began to affect their garden area, with wastewater occasionally overflowing during heavy rain. Initial rodding attempts by another contractor had only offered short-term relief, prompting the need for a more detailed investigation.
Using advanced CCTV inspection technology, our engineers examined the internal condition of the underground drain. The footage revealed a fractured and partially collapsed section of pipe approximately three metres from the inspection chamber. This damage was causing debris to accumulate, restricting flow, and increasing the risk of further deterioration if left untreated.
Our Response
To provide a permanent repair without the need for excavation, DrainBoss recommended a structural drain lining installation. Our technicians first prepared the damaged pipe by carrying out a thorough clean using high-pressure water jetting to remove all silt, scale, and loose material. Once the surface was properly prepared, a resin-impregnated liner was inserted into the drain and inflated to conform tightly to the existing pipe’s interior.
After curing, the liner formed a tough, seamless “pipe within a pipe,” restoring full structural integrity to the system. A final post-installation CCTV survey confirmed that the repair was complete, with a smooth, watertight surface ensuring efficient flow throughout the length of the drain.
Outcome
The no-dig lining repair was completed within a single day, avoiding any excavation, noise, or disturbance to the property. The newly lined section eliminated the source of blockages and significantly improved overall flow performance. The homeowner was particularly pleased with how quickly the issue was resolved and impressed by the clean, non-invasive process. With the structural liner in place, the system now benefits from a durable, long-term solution guaranteed to last for many years.
DrainBoss Comment: Drain lining is an excellent example of how modern, trenchless technology can restore damaged drains without digging or disruption. This Crawley project highlights the effectiveness of structural relining as a permanent, watertight solution that strengthens existing pipes, prevents future leaks, and provides outstanding value compared to traditional excavation repairs.
